I changed at least 5 poopy diapers, washed 3 loads of clothes, and tried to clean the nail polish stain my son spilled on the couch while daddy was watching him ( but couldn’t so I just put a throw pillow over it lol), but today was so FULFILLING! I know, I know you’re probably thinking oooooooook, and! However I wanted to share that because we live in a world that portrays you aren’t walking in purpose unless you’re on a stage speaking to thousands; or you’re not walking in purpose unless you’re busy putting on some big lavish event, or my favorite you’re not walking in purpose unless you are being SEEN DOING SOMETHING!
While pursuing God’s purpose in your life is this beautiful journey of ups and downs, wins and losses, it is not simply a cute accessory that you get to carry around and say look what I can do! In fact if you are pursing purpose properly it’s about serving others and sometimes we forget.......well sometimes I forget even as a mother God has called me to serve my children. To nurture them, pour into them, and even listen to the same joke a thousand times. But for some reason we downplay the role of “Mommy” because to be honest there is nothing glamorous about it. Motherhood looked so unglamorous to me I was afraid to become one. I didn’t want to loose my drive, my goals, my dreams, I didn’t want to loose myself. I was so worried about what I thought I was loosing I never stopped to think about all that I was gaining. Unlimited neck hugs , being able to pull greatness out of a little human, watching their eyes light up when they do something for the first time, being the only person to calm them down when they scratch their knee, & unconditional love! Being a mother is truly magic and as I continue to shift my perspective to focus on all that I’ve gained I can be Entrepreneur, A Dreamer, A Leader, A Boss, A Mentor, and not diminish my role as A MOTHER!
So today I did change the world, even though I never left my house. I vacuumed while carrying my little Caleb so he wouldn’t be afraid. I flipped the couch up to clean under it and let the kids jump off and pretend to be gymnast, while watching their faces beam with laughter and smiles that would brighten up the biggest of rooms. We even had an hour long dance party, where we battled each other and the winner got tickles. I am so fulfilled being their mother, not everyday feels that way, but we have to take these moments and remember our big and little why’s.
Purpose Pushing Mama Prayer
God we thank you for all of the seeds of greatness you have placed in us. We thank you for every gift that you have entrusted us with. Lord we pray that while you have given us all of these wonderful things that we would never diminish the most important role in our lives, being a mother. Because we are mothers we are stronger, because we are mothers we are creative, because we are mothers we walk in a greater authority. We are grateful for trusting us and ask that you would be our strength and our source. We love you, Amen!
